
Social Media & Marketing Manager
About the Role
Plantega is seeking a Social Media & Marketing Manager to support our mission of making plant-based food effortlessly accessible through NYC’s iconic bodegas—and to help us scale that vision even further. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a strategic and creative marketer who’s excited to grow with a purpose-driven brand.
You’ll take the lead on our digital presence and brand visibility, building awareness, engagement, and loyalty through thoughtful content, strong storytelling, and meaningful community collaborations. This role is ideal for a self-starter with social media experience and an eye for culture, who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is eager to contribute to a small, values-driven team.
What you’ll be doing:
Social Media Management: Own and manage Plantega’s social media accounts (primarily Instagram and TikTok), creating and posting content that drives community engagement and reflects the brand voice.
Content Calendar Creation: Build and maintain a monthly content calendar across all platforms, aligning messaging with key campaigns, product launches, and seasonal moments.
Social Media Monitoring: Track conversations, respond to messages and comments, and engage with community content to help build our digital presence and keep the brand top of mind.
Influencer & Community Outreach: Identify and manage relationships with influencers, creators, artists, and community groups to amplify the Plantega brand and expand reach.
Field Marketing Support: Collaborate on events, product samplings, and in-field promotions to create content and build brand awareness on the ground.
Brand Storytelling & Creative Input: Develop campaign ideas, create or coordinate visuals and copy, and contribute to visual storytelling across all touchpoints.
Analytics & Reporting: Track performance metrics across platforms and campaigns to optimize strategy and inform decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with team members across partnerships, operations, and culinary to ensure consistent and aligned messaging.

Social Media Savvy: Experienced in social media management, digital content creation, and building engagement online.
Creative & Strategic: You can ideate content, write sharp copy, and bring fresh, culturally-relevant ideas to the table—while aligning with big-picture goals.
Organized & Detail-Oriented: You know how to manage a calendar, keep timelines on track, and execute with precision.
Collaborative: You’re a strong communicator and a team player who loves contributing to group wins.
Self-Starter: You take initiative, can work independently, and love figuring things out—even when there’s ambiguity.
Trend Spotter: You’re always in the loop on what’s new and what’s next in social, digital, and food culture.

NYC-Rooted: Familiar with NYC neighborhoods and culture—and excited to be part of its bodega ecosystem.
Nice to Have
Experience working with plant-based or mission-driven brands
Fluency in Spanish is a plus
Graphic design or short-form video editing experience
Job Details
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time (depending on experience and candidate fit)
Location: NYC-based
Time Commitment: At least 20 hours per week (with room to grow)
Compensation: $26–$30/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
